Eagle's Nest, completed September 2024

Interactive full view of mural at The Eagle's Nest, Dr. Owen Lloyd Knox Elementary School, Los Angeles, CA, 2024. The Eagle's Nest is a new outdoor learning space led by the school's Black Student Achievement Plan Team (B.S.A.P).

Depicted: California Coastal Sunflower field. Sunflowers are known to remediate soils by reducing toxic metal levels present. The hope is that this designator for the Eagle's Nest space serves as a focal point where students can similarly remediate any feelings they no longer want to carry, that this visual sunflower field will restore them to equilibrium.
